Root Wellness CBD has launched a reforestation campaign, #RootforAustralia, in an effort to plant one million trees in a country that has seen an estimated 10 million hectares of land go up in flames.
The company, which has partnered with One Tree Planted — a non-profit organization helping to reforest the world — told The GrowthOp that it hopes to plant 10 million trees worldwide by the end of the year. For now, Root Wellness is turning its full attention to Australia and doubling its efforts by promising to plant two trees for every order it receives for its CBD-infused products.
“Root Wellness was founded on the premise of making an impact on the root of environmental problems while simultaneously offering products that nourish the mind and body,” the company said. “One Tree Planted will be helping us plant various types of native trees and companion plants, depending on the specific needs of each section of habitat being restored across New South Wales and Australia.”
The company is currently only partnered with One Tree Planted, but said it is always open to working with other organizations to achieve its environmental goals. The initial response to the campaign has been overwhelmingly positive.
“So far, the feedback has been fantastic! We have received a lot of phone calls and emails thanking us for putting this campaign together,” it said. “As a company, we just really hope that we can make an impact and provide Australia with a substantial amount of support.”
Weary Australian firefighters have been battling huge blazes for months during some of the driest conditions ever recorded in the country. More than 140 fires are currently sweeping across the landscape and with summer just heating up, things are expected to get worse before they get better.
“Given the current circumstances, we felt it was of absolute importance that we direct our contributions accordingly,” said Robert Crossley, CEO of the company said in a press statement.
