There’s an overwhelming belief among fans that former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will end up coming out retirement and return to the football field just in time for a Pats playoff run.
Of course, he’s running out of time to return this year, but coming back for 2020 is not out of the question. However, the NFL needs to make one change to a specific rule for this happen: legalize CBD.
“I don’t want to be banned from playing the sport I love because I’m using a product that anyone can buy right off the shelf at their local pharmacy,” Gronkowski said at a press conference. “I’m not really sure why it’s banned.”
Gronk gets paid by a CBD supplier, so it’s no shock that he’s supporting this at every turn.
“I also want to have the option to get back into the game, and if I’m banned next year I can’t,” Gronkowski said.
Even though CBD is part of the banned substances list, it’s not like Gronk couldn’t return to the football field if the NFL doesn’t legalize it. I mean, they only test players during the offseason, so if he wanted to use CBD during the season, he could.
As long as he doesn’t test positive during the offseason, Gronkowski won’t get suspended or banned by the league for using CBD. I’m sure he knows that, making his comments even more interesting.
