Australia’s Creso Pharma Limited (ASX:CPH) has announced the development of a hemp product for horses and other large animals.
The product is a complementary feed called anibidiol®EQUI, which was developed in collaboration with Switzerland-based CapService over the past year.
“..anibidiol®EQUIis based on natural hemp plant components and provides the entourage effect in which the various hemp components work together to strengthen the key benefits, aiming to reduce stress and pain and support fast mobility recovery.”
The firm states it will be mainly commercialised in Latin America, the Asia Pacific and selected countries in Europe, and plans to release anibidiolEQUI in the second half of this year.
“Creso Pharma is excited to add another innovative product to our growing portfolio,” said Creso Pharma Co-Founder and CEO, Dr. Miri Halperin Wernli.
The company’s animal health division has certainly been busy. Last month, Creso Pharma said it had sold more than 3 million doses of anibidiol, a product designed for dogs. Anibidiol doesn’t contain THC, which can be harmful to animals such as dogs, but contains other cannabinoids such as cannabidiol.
Human Health Product Progress
While Creso has a special interest in developing products for animals, it also has a human focus. Last week, it announced the company had developed in partnership with another Swiss company, Domaco Pharma, its first water-soluble microgranulated hemp plant product as an expansion of its cannaQIX human health product line. The new technology enables hemp oil free production.
“Importantly, this means that we have an additional path to market for our hemp-based food supplements without the need for regulatory approval, thus increasing our commercial options and expanding the potential territories we can sell the products in,” said Dr. Halperin Wernli.
cannaQIX is currently a nutraceutical sugar-free lozenge containing organic hemp oil, vitamins niacin, B12, B6, C and zinc. Its THC content is practically zero (≤ 0.00084%)
In addition to human nutraceutical and animal products, Creso is also developing therapeutic and cosmetic products. The company, which was founded in 2016 and listed on the ASX in October of that year, was the first to import medicinal cannabis into Australia.
