From Hash Harry’s royal move to Canada to Vince Vaughn’s infamous handshake, we’ed got the latest celeb scoop
It’s been a week, folks. Actor Vince Vaughn was trending on Twitter, singer Jann Arden made headlines and people had some questions for Prince Harry and the former contestant on The Bachelor, Katrina Badowski.
Here’s how weed had something to do with all of these people.
Legendary singer/songwriter Jann Arden will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame this year. Never mind the laurels for she is already a Canadian sweetheart for her views on cannabis. In a May 2019 tweet, the icon wrote that she’d “rather see people smoke weed than drink alcohol” because, “I’ve never heard of too many folks brawling or fighting or kicking each other’s asses high.” We salute you, Jann.
The British royals have been in the news recently after Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle announced they were stepping down as senior royals and will now be splitting their time between jolly old England and — possibly — Canada!
Though Harry seems to be the picture-perfect image of dad, wife and literal prince, a 2002 report from the New York Times claims that when the prince was 16 he was at a party where (gasp!) people were smoking weed. The tabs started calling him Hash Harry, and he was allegedly forced to go to rehab for one whole day. Oh, and his superstar wife’s nephew Tyler Dooley created a cannabis strain and called it Markle Sparkle, a nickname inspired by her dazzling looks.
A clip went viral on Twitter, showing actor Vince Vaughn shaking hands with U.S. President Donald Trump at a college football game this week. They appear to be having a nice chat (First Lady Melania sitting awkwardly between them) and then Vaughn gets up and leaves.
Now facing liberal outrage, many wonder if the actor was high. We may never know. But what we do know is that Vaughn had described himself as conservative, has zero tolerance for drug wars and thinks prisons are overcrowded with people convicted for drug-related issues. The 49-year-old actor is also starring in a Hulu movie called The Binge, which is essentially The Purge, except for one day a year people can use drugs and alcohol.
The Bachelor kicked off its 24th season earlier this month with Bachelor Peter Weber at the helm. One of the first contestants to get sent home was a 28-year-old pro sports dancer named Katrina Badowski.
Though spokespeople for the show said they had no comment to give on whether or not contestants are allowed to use cannabis, a former producer said that because weed isn’t legal in the United States, it’s “unlikely” the guys and gals are lighting up.
Fans had some questions after Badowski was filmed speaking with another contestant and saying of Weber, “You need to risk it for the biscuit, and he looks like a really f#@*ing hot biscuit.” As she spoke, she had a glazed look in her eyes. Oh, and she also tweeted later that she thinks she was eliminated for eating too many hors d’oeuvres (the munchies, perhaps?).
Also, when she met Weber, she showed him a framed picture of her hairless cat and said, “You’re going to fall in love with my hairless … pussy … cat.” Definitely a weird thing to say sober. She was sent home at the end of the episode, but she will live on in our hearts.
